bittersweet...

i've put off blogging about this because i didn't want it to be a sad post... because i am happy.. but this past sunday i was released from young womens... i've worked in the young womens program for the last 6 years.. and i have loved and enjoyed every minute of it.. i remember being called into young womens way back when in provo.. i was scared out of my mind.. i didn't know how or what to do with teenager girls.. but i quickly learned.. when i moved to georgia, i kinda thought i'd get a break, well i did.. a 2 week break that is... i was quickly called right back to young womens.. and i was scared again.. new girls.. and a lot of them.. but i quickly fell in love with them.. i might be a little biased, but i think the grayson girls are the BEST young women ever. i've learned so much from them. they are truly beautiful young ladies from the inside out.. so when i was called in and issued a new calling, (primary chorister btw) i was sad. but i've known inside for awhile that my time was up.. that my work was done.. and i felt great about it.. until sunday in sacrament meeting when i was released... it was one of the hardest moments... i sobbed... i did.. i tried to not cry.. but the tears just came.. it was really hard to hand my girls over to someone else.. but i know they are in good hands.. i was able to teach them one last time.. i was able to bear my testimony to them one last time... and hug them as their leader one last time.. it was hard.. i love these girls... look at them, how could you not?!?

but i must say how excited i am for my new calling... it's like a 'dream calling'. i've always thought that would just be the best.. and now i get to work with my kids.. so that will be a lot of fun... i've been listening and practicing my 'leading skills' all day long.. and now lacey will get her book out and 'lead' music while singing primary songs... it melts my heart and helps me know this is where i am suppose to be..

young womens! those are among my best memories in Provo and they are all with you! You were so good with the girls. It's the end of an era, but like you said - primary chorister is pretty good consolation. Your girls look like great girls!
