little moments...

there are days as a mother that i struggle. i feel like my kids are not listening to me, they are not obeying me and they are completely running all over me. i feel defeated and sad. and then there are days like yesterday, when i am so proud of my kids. and so grateful to be their mom.

jones has been playing tee-ball this spring and yesterday was his last game of the season. this saturday was suppose to be his team party. and after many emails and time and date changes for this said team party, i was informed that the party would be this sunday at a restaurant. i emailed his coach and just told him we wouldn't be able attend on sunday. but to not try and change it for us, that we understood. i was a little unsure how jones would take this news. but i didn't get a chance to tell him before his game. so he played his game and after the game the team all met around and listened to what coach had to say.. and of course, i knew what he was going to say.. and he announced the upcoming party on sunday. jones looked at me and shook his head. and then he turned to his coach, and told him in front of everyone, that he wouldn't be there because it's on sunday.

to say i was so proud of him at that moment is such an understatement. tears immediately formed in my eyes, as i knew that he does listen. that he does obey. and he does know what's right. i love him and i am so glad i am his mother.
