i am grateful to be my children's mother. i know that it is the hardest role i've ever had. it can at times be emotionally and physically draining. but yesterday as it was mother's day, i had a full heart all day as i, their mother, reflected on how much they mean to me. their sweet sleepy smiles in the morning. their silence in the afternoon when i know that they're up to no good. their laugh as we snuggle and play before bed. i love jones' freckles and shyness and hugs. and lacey's blonde hair and the way she's a princess all day and all night. i love all the moments i have with them. good or bad. quiet or loud. happy or sad. i love them and the joy they bring to me. happy mother's day all.
