The Croup and such...

Thursday I took Jones into the doctor's office because he had a fever and nasty cold. On the way to the doctor Jones threw up in the car and then again two more times while checking in. He was diagnosed with the Croup, and given a steroid shot to help with inflammation.  I was told to watch his breathing and if he got worse or couldn't talk to take him into the ER. So on Friday he literally laid on the couch all day. Most of the day he didn't even want the t.v. on, he refused to eat Popsicles, Jello and Pudding. So I knew he was sick. I took his temperature around 5:30 p.m., and it was 104!! So I gave him some Motrin, and that took his fever away for a little bit. He went to bed all on his on at 9:00 p.m., I went to check on him at 10:00 p.m., and he could barely breathe. I woke him to ask him if it hurt to breathe and he could not talk. He would try but no noise. We decided to take him to the ER. Alison came over to watch Lacey, and we left. We got there around 10:30 p.m., and after being checked in , 2 sets of x-rays, 2 breathing treatments and  2 doses of medicine it was 2:45 a.m. and we were finally leaving.  Jones was such a trooper through the whole thing. He didn't understand why he had to take his shirt off and stand still while getting his x-rays done, but we were able to get the picture they needed. (Thayne had to hold his head still and I was holding his hips so he couldn't move.) I think the hardest thing of the night was trying to give the medicine. They told me to take him back to his doctor's office today to follow up. There they gave him another steroid shot, which has really helped. He has been feeling alot better today. Now I just hope that little Lace won't catch his cold. I have been trying to prevent it by giving her Tylenol.

 I decided today that this week has not been the best week for our family. 

Here is the break down:

Mon. - Lacey had to get shots.

Tue. -  Alison got in a wreck.

Wed. - Thayne got in a wreck.

Thurs. - Took Jones to the dr., he got a shot.

Fri. - Took Jones to the ER.

Sat. -  Took Jones back to the dr, got another shot.

So as long as nothing happens to me tonight, we'll start over tomorrow!
